Due to the differences in battery capacity and internal resistance between old and new batteries, different types of batteries, aging of batteries, the battery has difference in charge and discharge. If it is used in tandem, it will result individual batteries in overcharge or undercharge, and occurs  over-discharged when discharging; if used in parallel, it will cause discharge bias and the currents of the batteries in each group are inconsistent.
